Essential and optional storage
Essential cookies keep requested sign-ins and security checks working. Local storage also remembers your privacy preference and checklist actions you explicitly choose. These functions are separate from optional measurement. Refusing optional analytics does not prevent you from reading guides or using your account.
Our optional analytics records aggregate daily counts of allowlisted public reference pages. It creates no analytics identifier or advertising cookie. It excludes private pages, member profiles, personal queries and marketplace interactions. Nevertheless, it remains off until you opt in. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control keep it off even if a previous choice allowed it. QA collection is disabled.
Storage inventory
These are the production names. Local development can use equivalent names ending in _dev. Third-party sign-in sites set their own storage when you visit them; their policies apply there.

Changing your decision
Use Cookie settings in the footer to select Essential only, Allow optional, or a specific analytics choice. Accepting and refusing require the same number of steps. Your preference is kept for up to 180 days on this browser and this site origin. It is not shared with your account or other devices.
Clearing site storage removes the saved preference and local checklist progress, and can sign you out. It does not by itself delete server-side account information. If storage is unavailable or a preference is invalid or expired, optional analytics stays off. Withdrawing consent stops future optional counts; existing aggregate totals do not contain a visitor identifier that can be singled out.
