Your first Intrepid cargo run

Prove the loading and delivery path with one supported container before taking a larger contract. Keep each destination’s freight identifiable.

STEP 1 OF 4

Plan two lifts instead of one undivided hold

The historical Intrepid Q&A describes two lifts, each 4 SCU in a 1x4 arrangement, with ground and interior access. Three delivery-box slots are separate from commodity capacity. This is not a universal crate-size or fit guarantee.

The checked First Flight offer gives 30-day access to Golem, Fortune and Intrepid. It does not establish the activation clock or modification permissions. Inspect your actual entitlement and fit before buying equipment.

  1. 1

Inspect each lift before accepting the manifest

Safely parked, inspect each actual lift and intended container position. Compare the shipment’s box shapes and destinations with the loading path before accepting it.

    What you should see

You have a separate loading plan for each side, not just an 8-SCU sum.

    That did not happen

If a box cannot pass the opening or sit securely, choose a smaller trial or a suitable carrier. Do not force a full-volume contract to fit by leaving freight loose.

Inspect each lift before accepting the manifest

Safely parked, inspect each actual lift and intended container position. Compare the shipment’s box shapes and destinations with the loading path before accepting it.

Expected result: You have a separate loading plan for each side, not just an 8-SCU sum.

If it did not work: If a box cannot pass the opening or sit securely, choose a smaller trial or a suitable carrier. Do not force a full-volume contract to fit by leaving freight loose.

Load and remove one supported box

SC Nomads exercise: lower the actual lift using its available interaction, then practise one supported container before taking a timed job. Watch the box and lift through the cycle; leave room to access the loaded freight again.

Shared control cards use the site’s inspected defaults: 4.9 LIVE, compared with 4.10 PTU. Each control card links its dated evidence. These are not an SC Nomads gameplay test of 4.10.2. Check your saved bindings if a result differs; suggest corrections through this guide’s normal peer review.

Take a supported box and bring it clear

Controls in order: Left mouse then Mouse wheel

Aim a suitable tractor tool at the test box and engage it with the primary action. Move it clear of the floor. Use small wheel movements to adjust how far it is held.

Expected result: The whole container moves without scraping through a doorway or another box.

If it did not work: If the tool shows a mass or distance limit, use equipment capable of this load. A Multi-Tool and a MaxLift are not interchangeable for every container.

Rotate before entering a tight opening

Separate controls: Hold R + Mouse

In clear space, hold R and move the mouse to align the box with the opening. Release the modifier before changing distance again.

Expected result: The face you want leads through the doorway and the corners remain visible.

If it did not work: If the container swings across another person or the hull, stop and move back into clear space. Rotate outside the doorway instead of wedging it in the frame.

Confirm placement before releasing the next box

Place the container in a supported grid position, release the tractor, and inspect whether it stayed where intended. Walk the access route once before repeating.

Expected result: The box remains aboard and both the output area and your walking route are usable.

If it did not work: Loose or moving freight is not secured merely because it is inside the hull. Reposition the test box before loading over it.

  • Lift and box movement observed
  • Container supported and stable
  • Access path usable
  • Box removed successfully before scaling up

Keep destination order visible

The Q&A says the lifts are not designed for vehicles and the side stairs are not a docking collar. Neither an apparently generous opening nor a ship-to-ship rendezvous changes those documented limits.

SC Nomads exercise: load a small manifest by destination. Keep later-delivery freight from trapping the first drop. Solo, complete cargo work before returning to the flight controls; these are jobs in turn, not additional passenger or work-seat claims.

Record each destination separately

Separate controls: F1

For each stop note the commodity, quantity and largest container. Add the quantities and compare the total with your empty, usable ship grid.

Expected result: You have a pickup and drop-off plan for the whole offer rather than only its payout.

If it did not work: If you cannot find box-size information, choose a simpler introductory load or ask the crew to verify it before accepting a large job.

Load later deliveries deeper inside

For a multi-stop run, reserve accessible positions for the first delivery. Keep the second destination identifiable and avoid covering exits or the route to the cockpit.

Expected result: You can remove the first stop without unpacking the whole ship.

If it did not work: If the grid cannot accommodate that order, simplify the job. A saved flight minute can be lost to repeated unloading.

Verify the hand-in before taking another contract

SC Nomads exercise: unload at the destination named by the contract and verify completion before accepting another shipment. Keep the first run’s box arrangement and awkward access points as notes for the next run.

Hand freight into the correct destination

Separate controls: F

At the destination, place the required boxes fully on its freight platform. Use the terminal to send them down, follow any handover prompt, then reopen the accepted contract.

Expected result: Its delivered quantity updates and the job shows completion when all requirements are met.

If it did not work: If the number does not change, verify destination, mission-box identity and whether a remaining submission step is shown. Do not substitute the disappearance animation for proof.

Check the reward before taking another job

Separate controls: F1

Read the contract outcome and your balance after handoff. Note any remaining boxes before accepting another haul.

Expected result: The completion or failure is explicit and you know whether any freight still belongs to an unfinished job.

If it did not work: For a stalled objective, save the contract name, patch and what the terminal showed for an Issue Council report.

Field note: Use the ship’s linked cargo and approach steps for the full handling and landing procedure. Report a wrong control or access claim through normal guide improvements, with the build and the container you used.
