Separate the ship terminal, personal equipment storage and freight elevator in your head before moving cargo.
Before moving anything valuable, identify the ship terminal, personal Storage Access and freight-elevator terminal. They solve different problems: retrieving a ship, equipping a person and moving physical cargo.
Our first practice is one ship retrieval and one small item transfer. Leave the large ship platform and its movement area clear while operating it.
Interact with the ship terminal and inspect the ship location and state. Use the offered delivery or retrieval flow for the ship you want, then read its assigned hangar.
The terminal identifies the ship's current state and where the retrieval should appear.
Do not treat Claim as a harmless refresh for cargo problems. Read its consequence and preserve any recoverable ship contents first.
At the storage kiosk, open the location inventory and equip or transfer the intended personal items. Close it and use I to check what you are now carrying.
The selected equipment is actually on your character or in carried storage.
An owned item still in Local storage will not follow the ship merely because you retrieved that ship.

Interact with the ship terminal and inspect the ship location and state. Use the offered delivery or retrieval flow for the ship you want, then read its assigned hangar.
Expected result: The terminal identifies the ship's current state and where the retrieval should appear.
If it did not work: Do not treat Claim as a harmless refresh for cargo problems. Read its consequence and preserve any recoverable ship contents first.

Practise the two directions explicitly: warehouse to platform, then platform to warehouse. Moving a box on the platform is different from transferring it into the location inventory. Keep the elevator movement area clear.
At the freight terminal select one available container from location storage and add it to the elevator transfer. Activate the transfer and wait for the platform to arrive.
Expected result: The selected box is physically on the platform.
If it did not work: If the list is empty, check location, selected inventory and whether you actually own or have assigned freight there.
Use a suitable tractor to lift the box, adjust its distance and rotate it as needed. Place it in a clear position, then return it fully onto the elevator platform.
Expected result: You can position the box without blocking the elevator or ship access.
If it did not work: If the tool refuses the box, read its mass or range warning. Do not use a tool too weak for the test load.
At the elevator terminal choose the transfer back into the warehouse. Wait for the process, then inspect the location inventory for the box.
Expected result: The box is listed in warehouse storage and no longer merely sitting on the raised platform.
If it did not work: If it is absent from the expected list, inspect transfer state and the selected destination before assuming storage succeeded.
The July 2026 CIG article supports ship-related pledge items. In-game purchases and loot are excluded; FPS recovery is described as future work. This is separate from regeneration with equipped gear.
Personal-hangar Freight Manager
Open the Freight Manager. Use its lower-left arrow to lower the elevator, then inspect Claim Mode in the upper right.
Expected result: Claim Mode becomes available with the elevator lowered.
If it did not work: Recheck elevator position if the mode is disabled. This procedure is not the ASOP ship-claim flow.
Freight Manager: Claim Mode
Select the eligible item, review the choice and claim it. Inspect Local Inventory afterward.
Expected result: The requested item appears in the expected inventory.
If it did not work: Claiming bricks the previous item. Do not repeatedly claim while guessing, or treat this as a replacement for unsupported FPS equipment.
Use the specific error’s workaround first. Character Repair is a last-resort procedure for supported character problems and cannot be reversed once started.
RSI Account Dashboard > Settings > Character Repair
If the dedicated procedure applies to your unresolved character problem, read its limits and confirmation before choosing it. If you explicitly proceed, wait at least one hour before logging into the game.
Expected result: The decision is based on the documented character problem.
If it did not work: CIG says missing items remain missing; repair does not restore cargo or reset CrimeStat/reputation. The known-issues article also identifies a particular post-login interaction failure that repair does not fix.
Your home personal hangar and a temporary visiting hangar have different persistence expectations. Treat the warehouse and confirmed storage as deliberate destinations; do not rely on the floor of a temporary hangar to safeguard valuable items.
Return personal items to Storage Access and freight through the appropriate elevator. Confirm the items appear in the intended location inventory, then record that location.
Expected result: You can identify where the items are stored without relying on remembering a loose pile on the floor.
If it did not work: If a transfer has not completed, keep the session active long enough to inspect its state. A disappearing object is not automatically a successful storage receipt.
Field note: Keep a short location note when leaving a ship or cargo at a station. Local inventory is not a universe-wide backpack.
Read the actual retrieval failure before retrying. The official troubleshooting page says an already assigned home hangar may not grow when a larger ship joins the fleet; a compatible temporary location can be necessary.
Read the ASOP status and compare the vessel with the location's available hangar. For a size problem, arrange transport to a compatible location before trying again.
Expected result: You either retrieve into a suitable hangar or have a specific error to investigate.
If it did not work: If the problem is a service or game error, consult the linked current issue and report the exact message. Do not keep moving valuable cargo through a failed retrieval loop.
The ship is absent from this terminal.: Check whether this location supports the ship or ground vehicle and whether it is available to your account. A terminal list is location-dependent.
My personal hangar cannot retrieve a newly acquired larger ship.: The official guidance says the original hangar may not enlarge automatically. Use an appropriate temporary hangar elsewhere if available.
