STEP 1 OF 13

Agree the trip before arriving

Confirm the passenger’s in-game handle, location, destination and any agreed payment. Use the party system when appropriate so both players can coordinate.

This guide is for player-arranged rides. It does not claim a fully implemented NPC passenger career or provide protected escrow.

  1. 1

    Confirm the actual pickup agreement

Agree the passenger, pickup marker, destination, payment if any, and a meeting point if separated. Explain whether this is an accepted in-game contract or a player arrangement.

    What you should see

Both players describe the same trip and completion point.

    That did not happen

SC Nomads does not guarantee a player-arranged payment or generate an NPC passenger contract.

Agree the trip before arriving

Confirm the passenger’s in-game handle, location, destination and any agreed payment. Use the party system when appropriate so both players can coordinate.

This guide is for player-arranged rides. It does not claim a fully implemented NPC passenger career or provide protected escrow.

Confirm the actual pickup agreement

Agree the passenger, pickup marker, destination, payment if any, and a meeting point if separated. Explain whether this is an accepted in-game contract or a player arrangement.

Expected result: Both players describe the same trip and completion point.

If it did not work: SC Nomads does not guarantee a player-arranged payment or generate an NPC passenger contract.

Read back one short trip

SC Nomads first outing: arrange one reachable pickup and one destination with a friend, without an intermediate cargo job. Read back the system, location name, meeting spot, passenger count and usable exit at the destination.

Agree any payment, when it is due, a waiting limit and what happens after a failed pickup or disconnect. A friend-arranged ride is not an accepted contract merely because both people joined a party.

Distinguish the agreement from a game contract

Separate controls: F1

mobiGlas > Contracts > Accepted

If using an offered contract, read its actual pickup, completion and reward conditions. If none was accepted, say that this is a player arrangement.

Expected result: Both players name the same completion point and payment terms.

If it did not work: Do not promise a transport beacon or NPC passenger mission because an older article lists service beacons. Use only an offer actually present in your build.

Meet the right person before boarding

Confirm the exact in-game handle privately. Use Commlink to invite the intended contact, have them accept, and read back the visible party roster. Choose a lobby or another accessible meeting point before directing them into a hangar.

Pilot: name the ship and entrance. Passenger: confirm the location and reply in the agreed text or voice channel. A nearby marker alone does not confirm the person is inside your ship.

Confirm the party and communication path

Separate controls: F11

mobiGlas > Commlink > contact > party invitation

Open Commlink, select the agreed contact and use the offered party controls. Have the other person acknowledge one short test call or message.

Expected result: The intended handle appears in the party and both people can communicate.

If it did not work: If you cannot meet, check the actual server/session and accessible location together. Do not keep flying toward a stale marker or publish the passenger location to find them.

Prove the entrance, seat and return reserve

Controls use the latest inspected CIG defaults: 4.9 LIVE, compared with 4.10 PTU. Your saved profile wins. Check a different assignment once in Options > Keybindings > your device > Advanced Controls Customization, then confirm the visible result.

Before collecting the passenger, walk the entrance-to-seat route. Count usable passenger seats in this hull; an operating-crew number is not passenger capacity. Check suits, carried essentials, ship condition and both fuel reserves for the outward leg plus a reachable return or service stop.

Party membership is not proof of every door, inventory or contract permission. Test the actual entry prompt with the pilot present. Agree that the passenger uses the assigned seat and leaves cockpit, cargo and engineering controls to their operators.

Board through the actual access prompt

Separate controls: F

Personal interaction > ship entrance > assigned seat

At a stationary safe ship, use the entrance prompt and reach the assigned passenger seat. Let the pilot operate an authorized door if your prompt refuses access.

Expected result: The passenger can enter, sit and identify how to leave after landing.

If it did not work: If no suitable seat or usable entrance exists, change the plan or ship. Do not use a cargo floor, ramp or unsecured doorway as a substitute seat.

  • Passenger seat checked
  • Entry tested
  • Suit and supplies checked
  • Outward and return fuel reserved

Make boarding straightforward

Choose a pickup point the passenger can actually reach. Explain the hangar or pad, ramp and seat without assuming they know your ship.

Our beginner-friendly routine: wait for confirmation that everyone is aboard and seated, check suits if the route involves vacuum, then close the access point.

Account for passengers before takeoff

Separate controls: F

At the safe pickup, let the passenger board and reach an appropriate seat. Ask for an aboard-and-ready confirmation, then close the access route.

Expected result: The pilot knows the passenger is inside and ready, not still on the ramp.

If it did not work: If the passenger marker is nearby but they cannot board, reposition or resolve access before launching.

Close the boarding phase before moving

Pilot: get an explicit aboard-and-seated reply, confirm the entrance is closed and inspect cockpit readiness. Use the cockpit Flight Ready interaction if needed; check status instead of repeatedly toggling power.

Request departure clearance at a controlled hangar. Inspect the complete exit, lift clear and leave room for traffic. Raise landing gear only after clearing the pad or hangar. For a first flight, practise these movements before carrying the passenger.

Obtain clearance and see the open exit

Keys together: Left Alt + N

Request Landing / takeoff clearance; Commlink is the menu alternative

Request clearance and wait for the hangar doors to open fully. Use the ship view to inspect the path before lifting.

Expected result: Your ship has clearance and a visibly clear exit.

If it did not work: A passenger ready call does not open the hangar. If clearance or the door is missing, remain stopped and use Commlink to contact the correct port.

Lift and clear the pad

Controls in order: Space then N

Flight movement; raise landing gear after clearing

Use Space to lift gently where the exit is above you, then your movement controls to follow the actual exit. Press N to raise gear after clearance from the pad.

Expected result: The ship leaves without crossing a door, another ship or the passenger ramp.

If it did not work: For a horizontal exit or different ship response, stop and inspect the route. Use /guides/first-flight to rehearse the actual hull.

Fly one confirmed leg with the passenger secured

Use the map to select the agreed destination and read the route, next leg and fuel requirement. Announce departure, then compare the cockpit state with the travel task. The passenger stays seated through transit and approach.

After arrival, read actual speed, nearby traffic and the destination marker. A quantum arrival is the start of the local approach, not confirmation that the passenger can disembark.

Select the destination, not a similar name

Separate controls: F2

mobiGlas > Maps > location > Route to this Location

Search the named location, select it and compare its system and route with the agreement.

Expected result: The next leg and required fuel are visible for the intended destination.

If it did not work: If obstructed or beyond the available reserve, choose a reachable intermediate stop and tell the passenger before committing.

Read NAV and QT before engaging

Controls in order: Hold B then Middle mouse then Hold Left mouse

Cycle Master Mode (Long Press) > Next Operator Mode > Engage Quantum Drive (Hold)

If needed, hold B until NAV is selected. Cycle with middle mouse until QT appears. Align with the chosen leg, wait for readiness, then hold left mouse to engage.

Expected result: NAV and QT are visible, calibration is ready, and travel starts toward the selected leg.

If it did not work: Release the input if travel does not start and read the obstruction, fuel or drive warning. Left mouse in a weapon operator is not the quantum action.

Land where the passenger can finish the trip

Ask for destination clearance where required and follow the assigned pad, hangar or docking instructions. Reduce actual speed early; a limiter setting does not prove the ship has stopped.

Once stationary, name the exit and wait while the passenger leaves the seat and ship using its actual prompts. Confirm they reached the agreed lobby, terminal or other accessible destination before closing up.

Confirm a usable landing assignment

Keys together: Left Alt + N

Request Landing; Commlink alternative

Request clearance and read the pad, hangar or docking marker assigned to your ship.

Expected result: You have an authorized approach to a usable passenger exit.

If it did not work: If clearance is refused or the access is unsuitable, agree another reachable landing point. Do not drop the passenger beside a station hull or inaccessible freight platform.

Stop before opening the passenger exit

Separate controls: N; X

Landing gear and spacebrake are separate actions

Lower gear with N where appropriate. Brake with X as needed while watching actual speed. Once stationary, operate the entrance and wait for the passenger handoff confirmation.

Expected result: The ship is stopped and the passenger confirms they reached the agreed accessible place.

If it did not work: A lowered gear indication is not proof of a stop. If the passenger cannot leave safely, keep the ship stationary and resolve access before departure.

Finish the handoff on foot

Fly the agreed route with a service and fuel reserve. Land at a point suited to the passenger’s destination.

Before departing again, confirm they have safely left the ship and can reach their next stop. A novice left at an inaccessible freight platform has not received a useful ride.

Deliver to a usable exit

Obtain appropriate landing clearance where required, stop safely and allow the passenger to leave. Confirm they reached the agreed destination before ending the trip.

Expected result: The passenger is outside at the intended place, with any accepted contract checked for completion.

If it did not work: Dropping someone near a station is not the same as delivering them to an accessible entrance. Agree a new safe landing if access is refused.

  • Pickup agreed
  • Everyone aboard
  • Destination confirmed
  • Passenger safely disembarked

Settle the agreed amount once

If a payment was agreed, read the recipient handle, amount and any displayed fee before confirming. CIG documented mo.Trader in September 2020; that historical article is not verification of the current app layout. Use the transfer app actually offered in your mobiGlas.

Sender and recipient check the displayed outcome and in-game balances before retrying a delayed transfer. An informal ride has no protected escrow or automatic payment enforcement. Do not turn a missing confirmation into repeated sends.

Check recipient, amount and result

Separate controls: F1

mobiGlas > mo.Trader, if offered in the current interface

At the agreed payment point, inspect the transfer details and confirm only the intended transaction. Have the other player acknowledge receipt.

Expected result: Both people can distinguish a confirmed payment from an unresolved request.

If it did not work: If the app or result is unavailable, stop and agree how to resolve it. Do not claim the guide, party or completed flight guarantees payment.

Field note: aUEC is the in-game alpha currency. The website UEC figure is not your current in-game aUEC balance.

Recover the person when the plan fails

No boarding: stop the departure, confirm the same location and session, meet at the named accessible point and retest the door. If the waiting limit expires, communicate cancellation under your agreed terms instead of pretending the ride completed.

Damage or an unsafe approach: tell the passenger, keep them seated while you move to a reachable safe stop, and assess ship condition before continuing. A stranded or incapacitated passenger may need /guides/medical-rescue; an ordinary passenger seat is not medical treatment.

Disconnect or lost contact: use the agreed fallback location and contact method. Do not make a blind return to a stale party marker or promise that reconnecting restores everyone to the same seat.

Choose a reachable recovery stop

Separate controls: F2

mobiGlas > Maps; ship status displays

Read remaining fuel and damage, select an accessible stop and tell the passenger the revised handoff. If the ship cannot safely continue, request assistance with the exact location and condition.

Expected result: Both players know whether the ride is continuing, being handed over or cancelled.

If it did not work: Do not add an unplanned dangerous pickup to a damaged first outing. Keep the passenger informed and distinguish rescue from a completed transport job.

Before you commit

An informal agreement is not a guarantee of payment or trust. Start with simple routes and people whose behavior you can evaluate.

Do not post another player’s private location or contact information in a public profile. Share only what is needed to coordinate the trip.

Return, service and make the next ride easier

Return to a reachable port with the reserve you kept. Once landed, inspect Landing Services for needed repair or fuel, confirm the result on the ship readouts and record any unresolved damage before another pickup.

Our closeout: confirm the passenger is safe, record whether payment remains unresolved, and note one change to the pickup instructions. Sources were rechecked 18 October 2026; these are player-arranged operating steps, not gameplay verification or a promise of current beacon availability.

Verify the service changed the ship state

Separate controls: F1

mobiGlas > Landing Services, while landed in the pilot seat

Choose required repair or fuel and read the confirmation. Compare fuel and condition before accepting the next trip.

Expected result: The ship has the needed reserve and the last passenger job is closed clearly.

If it did not work: The 4.10.2 issue list notes a delayed Landing Services response. Allow several minutes after landing, then close and reopen the app; if still unavailable, plan another reachable service stop.

  • Passenger handoff confirmed
  • Payment status agreed
  • Return completed
  • Service result checked
