STEP 1 OF 13

Distinguish a fine from a prison sentence

The RSI Crime Rating guide distinguishes minor fines from felony-level imprisonment. Check the offense and available legal-terminal options rather than assuming every CrimeStat is cleared the same way.

Illegal actions during imprisonment can add consequences. Our recommendation for a first visit is to learn the legitimate release route before attempting an escape.

  1. 1

    Identify the offense and jurisdiction

    Separate controls: F1

Check your location and CrimeStat, then open Journals for the relevant system legal code. Distinguish an eligible fine from a felony sentence.

    What you should see

You know which authority and offense are relevant instead of assuming every CrimeStat has the same remedy.

    That did not happen

Do not assume a fine terminal clears a felony. Read the actual entry and options shown.

  2. 2

Use the legal terminal for an eligible fine

    Separate controls: F

At an Admin facility with a legal terminal, interact with it and review the listed offenses, payable amount and confirmation before paying.

    What you should see

The eligible fine is recorded as paid and its resulting status can be checked.

    That did not happen

If an offense is not payable, stop trying different amounts. Other legal consequences may require a different resolution.

Identify the offense and jurisdiction

Separate controls: F1

Check your location and CrimeStat, then open Journals for the relevant system legal code. Distinguish an eligible fine from a felony sentence.

Expected result: You know which authority and offense are relevant instead of assuming every CrimeStat has the same remedy.

If it did not work: Do not assume a fine terminal clears a felony. Read the actual entry and options shown.

Use the legal terminal for an eligible fine

Separate controls: F

At an Admin facility with a legal terminal, interact with it and review the listed offenses, payable amount and confirmation before paying.

Expected result: The eligible fine is recorded as paid and its resulting status can be checked.

If it did not work: If an offense is not payable, stop trying different amounts. Other legal consequences may require a different resolution.

Choose a legal response before paying or accepting arrest

A payable fine, an offer to surrender and a sentence are different states. CIG confirms fines for eligible misdemeanors and prison for felony-level infractions. A displayed CrimeStat number alone does not identify the remedy.

CIG also describes security-outpost hacking as a way to avoid prison. That is a separate route, not payment or lawful release. This first-visit workflow does not supply an unverified hack location, key sequence or escape route. Getting out physically is not confirmation that your legal record was cleared.

SC Nomads decision routine: first read your legal entry, then choose only an option the live interface actually offers. This review does not establish a universal surrender button location, key, CrimeStat threshold or sentence discount. Approaching guards, switching ship power off or dying is not a verified replacement for an accepted surrender prompt.

Read the charge, then inspect the legal terminal

Controls in order: F1 then F

mobiGlas, then terminal interaction; CIG documented defaults, checked 18 Oct 2026

Open mobiGlas with F1 and inspect the relevant jurisdiction and journal entry. Close it, approach an available legal terminal and use its F interaction. Read the charge and offered choices before confirming anything.

Expected result: You can name the offense and whether the screen offers payment, surrender or neither.

These controls are used at separate steps, not held together. An interaction prompt confirms a usable target, not that a fine was paid.

If it did not work: If no legal choice is offered, stop. Record the exact screen and location; do not pay a different charge or provoke an arrest to test an assumption.

Confirm the result of the choice you made

Current legal terminal confirmation; no universal surrender shortcut verified

For a fine you intend to pay, review its amount and confirmation. If the game offers surrender and you deliberately choose imprisonment, read and accept that specific prompt. Afterwards inspect your actual legal status or sentence before choosing the next step.

Expected result: The resulting state is visible: a payment confirmation, an accepted arrest transition or an unresolved offense.

If it did not work: A closed menu or a reduced balance alone does not prove every offense cleared. Preserve the reference and current state if the transition fails; no fixed sentence reduction is promised.

On waking at Klescher, establish a safe starting point

Identify the facility before treating this as a normal hospital recovery. Stay in the occupied area until you have found your own sentence information and checked what equipment you actually have.

Use signs and visible interaction prompts rather than a memorized corridor from an old video. Current primary guidance does not establish one reliable kiosk position or exact screen label for every build.

Inspect the terminal and your carried kit separately

Controls in order: F then I

World interaction, then personal inventory; dated CIG defaults

At the prisoner-information display offered by the facility, use F and read your remaining time. Then close the display and press I to inspect equipped slots and carried contents. Identify your helmet, storage and any issued tool before considering a tunnel trip.

Expected result: You have a sentence reading and a specific account of the kit available to this character.

A visible tool model is not proof that the required attachment or storage is available. The two screens answer different questions.

If it did not work: If the display is blank, record that state before leaving the hub. If equipment is missing, ask for current-build guidance; this lesson does not guarantee an automatic replacement or a particular issue-counter interaction.

  • Facility identified
  • Own sentence read
  • Equipped kit and contents checked
  • Return landmark chosen

Read the sentence and choose work or offline time

CIG states that prison time counts down while logged out. Alt-X or another anti-idle tool is unnecessary for serving that offline sentence.

Record the remaining time before logging out

Prison sentence display

Read the remaining sentence and note the time. Decide to complete available prison work or leave the game while the sentence runs.

Expected result: You have a duration and a deliberate plan.

If it did not work: The 4.10.2 advisory warns that prison death or returning before expiry can reset the timer. If using its offline workaround, remain offline for the full sentence.

  • Sentence read
  • Remaining duration noted
  • Current advisory checked
  • Work or offline plan chosen

Make the offline option a deliberate timed plan

Offline service is a supported choice. The 4.10.2 advisory additionally warns about sentence resets after prison death or logging back in before completion, and gives remaining offline for the whole sentence as its workaround.

Before leaving, record the displayed remaining duration and the real-world time together. Use those readings for your own return plan; another player's starting sentence is not your timer.

Leave once, then allow the recorded duration to elapse

Normal game-menu logout; follow the current on-screen option

After recording the remaining time, use the game's normal logout option. If using the advisory's workaround, remain offline for the complete recorded remaining sentence instead of rejoining periodically to inspect it. On return, read the actual release state.

Expected result: You can compare the recorded duration with elapsed time and the state shown when you return.

If it did not work: If time reset despite following the advisory, record the build, remaining-time screenshot and return time for the matching report. A clock calculation is not proof the facility has accepted release.

Field note: No activity keeper, disconnect trick or repeated death is required to make the supported offline option count.

Reduce the sentence through available tasks

The official guide lists mining and Klescher tasks as legitimate ways to reduce a sentence. Inspect the current assignment and your issued equipment before heading out.

Our suggested work routine: do one short task, return and confirm credit before committing to a longer route. Monitor oxygen and remember the way back.

Choose one sentence-reduction task

Separate controls: F1

Read the prison task available to you or prepare for prison mining. Note the required location, object and return or submission condition before leaving the safe area.

Expected result: You know what will count as completed work and where to return.

If it did not work: Do not wander deeper only because other players do. Keep oxygen, route and task requirements in view.

Confirm the reduction, not only the activity

After completing and submitting the work, inspect the sentence display again. Compare it with your earlier remaining time.

Expected result: The task has a visible completion or sentence effect.

If it did not work: If no effect appears, recheck whether you submitted the requested item or completed the final interaction. Avoid assuming collected ore was automatically credited.

Prove one short work loop before repeating it

CIG lists mining and Klescher tasks as sentence-reduction routes. SC Nomads recommends one short verification trip first, with a return landmark and enough margin to turn back.

Read the actual objective before leaving: location, requested interaction or material, and any final hand-in. Do not substitute a task from an old patch or assume collecting something credited it. Exact task availability, accepted ore, oxygen refill locations and merit rates still need current gameplay confirmation.

Choose a task and a return condition

Separate controls: F1

mobiGlas and the available task interface; your bindings may differ

Read one available task and its completion condition. Note the current sentence, identify the return path and inspect oxygen before moving. If mining instead, verify the issued tool's named controls and readout before attempting one suitable target.

Expected result: You know what you must do and what will make you turn back, rather than simply following another inmate deeper.

If it did not work: Do not copy ship-mining shortcuts onto a hand tool. If its input, target compatibility or oxygen state is unclear, stop in a safe area and verify it instead of guessing a binding or continuing deeper.

Read the completion feedback and the new sentence

Task completion or submission display, then sentence display

Finish the stated interaction or hand-in, then read its result and your sentence again. Compare the change with ordinary elapsed time so you do not count waiting as a work reward.

Expected result: A completion/credit indication and the sentence reading support your conclusion that this particular trip counted.

If it did not work: If nothing is credited, check the missing final condition and keep a record of the task and display. Do not repeat an uncredited long route; choose a different verified task or the offline plan.

Turn one mined sample into a confirmed prison deposit

Latest-known community procedure: Luke’s illustrated May and October 2026 walkthroughs supply the missing practical steps below. Their build is unspecified; these are source-reviewed instructions, not an SC Nomads playtest. Keep the official timer-reset advice above.

Identify the mining attachment before entering the tunnels

Separate controls: I

Personal Inventory; existing central inventory default

Inspect the issued multi-tool, fitted OreBit Mining Attachment and backpack. Luke’s hand-mining walkthrough shows this combination. An attachment sitting loose in storage is not fitted: the walkthrough equips it by double-clicking it with the tool equipped.

Expected result: The tool has its mining attachment and carried storage is available.

If it did not work: If the attachment is absent or the equip operation fails, stop before entering the mines. Do not assume the visible tool body can mine.

Break one small target, then collect its fragments

Controls in order: Left mouse then Right mouse

Central hand-tool practice: primary beam, named mining-power control, then collection; check your saved device bindings

Aim at a small orange-outlined deposit. Left mouse starts the beam. Find the named hand-tool power action in your saved bindings and make small adjustments to hold charge in green. The central practice illustrates Mouse wheel; Luke’s October walkthrough specifies Alt plus Mouse wheel. These sources disagree: use your saved action and report the working build/input through peer review. After fracture, right mouse collects the pieces. Inspect the first material in carried inventory.

Expected result: Fragments become carried material, not merely broken scenery.

If it did not work: If charge enters red, stop the beam and let it fall before continuing. If collection fails, check reach and storage; do not copy ship-mining controls.

Use ORE Deposit, not the separate item terminal

Separate controls: F

World interaction, then the deposit screen

Return to the signed mine exit. Luke’s May walkthrough locates ore and item terminals at depth 1. Choose ORE Deposit for mined material; its ore submission control is at the lower right. Read the displayed transaction before submitting once.

Expected result: The terminal reports a mineral submission and Merit credit.

If it did not work: If the terminal rejects or does not register it, keep the material and stop this loop. Do not switch to selling your issued equipment or repeat a long mining trip without credit.

Check the sentence before taking the release exit

Central sentence terminal, then normal release route

Return to the common-room sentence display and compare it with your pre-trip reading. When it indicates release, follow Inmate Processing and the exit lift. The May walkthrough selects Ground Floor; confirm the live lift option before travelling.

Expected result: The sentence display recognizes release before you leave.

If it did not work: If still serving time, use the remaining duration rather than an assumed Merit conversion. If release is stuck, keep the display evidence and use the existing release troubleshooting advice.

Separate incapacitation, rescue and a deliberate death choice

Outside prison, an incapacitated player may be revivable. CIG documents a rescue-beacon action and warns that keyboard-layout prompts can disagree with the actual binding. Calling for help is different from accepting a death or regeneration option.

Those general medical instructions do not prove a beacon is available, safe or reachable inside Klescher. Read the choices on your own screen. Inside prison, the current timer-reset advisory makes deliberate death a poor timer-recovery experiment.

Request help only when the screen offers that option

Choose the applicable control: Hold M or Hold ,

Rescue Beacon: CIG documents M on QWERTY and comma on AZERTY; verify your saved binding

If incapacitated and the game offers a rescue beacon, use the named Rescue Beacon binding. CIG documents holding M on QWERTY; its keyboard-layout advisory maps the action to comma on AZERTY. Look for the request or beacon confirmation before assuming help was sent.

Expected result: The interface indicates that a request exists; this does not guarantee a responder, a revival or access to the prison interior.

These are layout alternatives, not a chord and not an order to press both.

If it did not work: If the prompt produces no request, inspect the saved action/layout when possible. If the option is absent, do not repeatedly press unrelated keys or assume a rescue mission exists.

Read the cost of the offered death or respawn choice

Current incapacitation or death-screen action; no universal forced-respawn shortcut asserted

Before choosing a death or respawn option, distinguish it from waiting for aid. Note your location and items at risk, then read the actual prompt. If you are in prison, compare the decision with the current timer advisory first.

Expected result: You know whether you are waiting for help, still incapacitated or deliberately accepting a death transition.

If it did not work: No source checked here verifies that forcing a death clears CrimeStat, completes a sentence or restores the equipment. If the prompt or key differs, follow the named current action rather than an old Backspace instruction.

After a death or disconnect, establish what actually happened

Error 30000 describes a connection timeout; it is not a death notification. A later successful login also does not prove that cargo, contracts, equipment or a prison timer returned to the state you expected.

SC Nomads recovery record: note the exact error or death screen, build, time and last confirmed location. On return, inspect the actual location and sentence before another recovery action. A repeatable report is more useful than cycling death, reconnect and repair together.

Check the return state before changing more of it

Separate controls: I

Personal Inventory default; inspect prison information separately if incarcerated

After entry completes, identify whether you are at a medical location, Klescher or elsewhere. Inspect carried items with I and, if incarcerated, read the sentence. Compare those observations with the record you made before disconnecting.

Expected result: You have a concrete return-state description and can separate a login problem, a sentence problem and a missing-item problem.

If it did not work: Use the dedicated article for a repeated connection error. Do not present Character Repair as a sentence reset, equipment refund or routine prison-release button; check its documented purpose and limitations before considering it.

A force-respawn suggestion appears in an unrelated known issue.: A workaround for another location or bug does not establish a prison workaround. Match the exact symptom and build before trying an action that can change your sentence.

Confirm lawful release, then check the return

Release status, destination and belongings are separate checks.

Use the offered release route

Prison release display and available exit

When the sentence has elapsed, inspect the release state and follow the normal release route offered. After returning, check location, legal status, equipment and ship availability.

Expected result: The facility recognizes release and you know what is available for the next activity.

If it did not work: Capture the display if release is stuck. Do not substitute repeated death or escape for a failed release; further infractions can add consequences. This guide does not promise a universal elevator label, destination or item-return result.

After release, check inventory and transport without assuming restitution

A release transition, a cleared legal status and returned possessions are separate observations. Record your actual arrival location, then check equipped slots, carried contents and the relevant location storage independently.

CIG's inventory guidance distinguishes what is carried from items kept at a location, and warns that death can leave belongings to recover. It does not establish a universal Klescher release destination or guarantee restoration of every pre-arrest item.

Inspect the kit you can actually use for the next trip

Controls in order: I then F

Personal Inventory, then an available local storage kiosk; CIG documented defaults

Press I to inspect equipped items and carried containers. If you need location storage, find its storage-access kiosk and interact with F. Check suitable clothing, helmet, health and available transport before leaving services.

Expected result: You can name what is equipped, what is carried, what remains stored here and what is still missing.

Owning an item at another location does not make it available on this character. Inspect a container's contents as well as its equipped slot.

If it did not work: For a missing item, record its exact name and last confirmed storage context. Do not assume a ship claim, another death or Character Repair can restore it. Use the dedicated recovery guidance for that item type.

  • Actual arrival noted
  • Legal status checked
  • Equipped slots and contents checked
  • Relevant local storage checked
  • Next transport confirmed

Before you commit

This guide does not guarantee an exact reduction rate or a specific escape route. Sentence mechanics and facility bugs can change.

If the displayed timer contradicts elapsed time, compare your build with the linked issue before installing tools or repeating actions that can extend the sentence.

The timer reset after a death or early return.: The 4.10.2 known-issues page documents prison-timer problems and an offline full-sentence workaround. Check the live advisory before repeating the action that reset it.
