Compare shields: FR-76 or Lorica?
Separate shield health, recovery rate and recovery delays in a size-2 example.
Separate shield health, recovery rate and recovery delays in a size-2 example.
The comparison uses individually captured community game-data records for 4.10.2-LIVE.12881860, captured 15 October 2026. These are extracted parameters, not CIG performance promises or an SC Nomads gameplay test. Equal item size does not establish that either fits your ship, mount or current loadout.
The FR-76 and 7MA Lorica are both size-2 records. Source health is the generator total, not a guaranteed value for each shield face. Combined generators, face distribution, power and damage rules are not simulated here.
The same published instructions in one readable view. Use the steps above for controls and practice panels.

The FR-76 lists 10,560 HP and a 2,323 HP/s regeneration ceiling; Lorica lists 10,000 HP and 2,200 HP/s. Those ceilings do not promise uninterrupted recovery while taking fire.
The FR-76’s source damage delay is 5.27 seconds, versus Lorica’s 4.58 seconds. Its fully-downed delay is 10.5 seconds, versus 9.17 seconds. Taking a hit and losing the shield entirely are different recovery cases. Do not add the two fields together as a universal wait.
For repeated short exchanges, the opportunity to stop taking damage and recover matters alongside the pool. For a larger single hit, available protection matters. These are planning questions: the source fields alone do not establish which generator keeps your particular ship alive.
Record the healthy shield display and decide to observe a small, controlled loss followed by a complete pause. Keep the same generator count, ship, mode and allocation for both fittings.
Expected result: You know which display you will watch and which conditions must stay the same.
If it did not work: Do not deliberately collapse shields or damage valuable hulls just to test the downed-delay field. Read that value as a source reference unless you have a controlled, repeatable test.
Control cards reuse the existing engineering and navigation lessons. Latest inspected defaults are 4.9 LIVE, compared with 4.10 PTU on 22 August 2026, not a 4.10.2 gameplay test. Your saved bindings take precedence. Suggest control corrections through this guide’s normal improvement and independent review actions.
Record the exact ship variant, current component name, relevant HUD readings and power allocation. Keep the original item available so you can reverse the change. Do not buy an item just because this lesson compares its size.
Check the exact generator slot and how many generators are installed. Replacing one of several generators does not turn the whole ship into a single-generator comparison.
SC Nomads comparison drill
Record your ship variant, fitted weapons, visible power allocations and healthy status. Keep the same view available for the next practice step.
Expected result: You have a reference to compare with a failure.
If it did not work: Do this while parked. If the screen is unfamiliar, ask the owner to identify one known component before changing anything.
mobiGlas > Vehicle Manager
At the location holding the ship and parts, open Vehicle Manager, select the stored ship and its intended slot, then inspect the offered compatible items. Apply the intended customization and recheck the slot.
Expected result: The intended component is fitted to the intended ship.
If it did not work: Check location, slot size and available item before replacing anything else. Do not assume a more expensive part fits.
Prefer an available non-persistent practice mode or another permitted, consensual setup. Only begin if both participants can stop immediately and identify the shield reading. A real PU test can damage the ship or create legal consequences. You can complete the reference lesson without shooting anything.
Switching from NAV to SCM and recovering from damage are different events. Confirm the combat state and a stable healthy baseline before attributing a delay to the generator.
Cycle Master Mode (Long Press). Latest inspected CIG default: 4.9 LIVE, compared with 4.10 PTU. Your saved input may differ.
Check the HUD label before and after changing master mode. For a controlled weapons check, wait for SCM and its available systems.
Expected result: The HUD confirms the intended master mode.
If it did not work: Do not switch blindly during danger. Read the transition and current status.
In the agreed controlled exercise, have the partner stop after a small visible shield loss, well before collapse or hull damage. Watch for the first recovery and then the return toward the baseline. Record the last observed hit and the first visible recovery without changing power during the observation.
Expected result: You can distinguish the damaged state, a pause and visible recovery, or report exactly which stage did not appear.
If it did not work: If the loss is larger than planned, stop the exercise and disengage. If recovery does not begin, check mode transition, actual incoming damage, allocation and component condition. Do not ask for more shots to fix a missing reading.
Field note: HUD percentages, multiple generators, server timing and rounding can prevent an exact stopwatch match. A mismatch is evidence to investigate, not proof that the API delay is your measured recovery time.
If you changed power outside the comparison plan, discard that attempt or repeat it under the recorded baseline. The reset action below uses the game’s default assignments; it is not proof that a custom crew preset or damaged component was restored.
If a shield remains absent, record the ship variant, mode, component health and exact missing indication. Known ship-specific faults do not establish a universal repair. End the experiment and use a service location if the ship is unsafe.
Flight - Power > Reset Assignments. Latest inspected CIG default: 4.9 LIVE, compared with 4.10 PTU. Your saved input may differ.
Use Reset Assignments after the experiment, then compare against your recorded state.
Expected result: You can tell whether reset restored the expected allocation.
If it did not work: Reset is not a repair, and it is not proof that a custom crew preset was restored. Report any remaining difference.
The shield has not recovered while we keep trading shots.: Stop the test and create a safe pause. The damage-delay field describes a recovery condition, not continuous regeneration under every stream of damage.
The HUD does not show 10,560 or 10,000 on one face.: These source totals are not per-face values. Record the installed generator count and the actual ship display rather than relabeling the source total as face health.
Compare recovery observations under the same conditions. Keep source pool, regeneration ceiling and the two delay cases separate. Do not publish a time-to-full claim derived from these fields alone.
Do not save an experimental loadout automatically. The ASOP save step replaces the previous snapshot. Use it only after deciding which fitted configuration you want to retain; otherwise restore the original part first. No spare part, ammunition purchase or insurance save is performed by this website.
Record the game build, exact fitted item, power state, mode and observed result if you suggest an improvement. A friend can confirm the observation, but publication still uses the existing independent review process. These three examples do not cover every component or ship.
Return to a safe service location. If reverting, use the same Vehicle Manager customization step to fit the recorded original part, then inspect the slot again. Keep test notes separate from a claim that the part is universally better.
Expected result: The installed component matches your deliberate final choice.
If it did not work: If the expected item is missing, check the ship’s storage location and inventory. Do not overwrite the insurance snapshot merely to troubleshoot a missing part.
ASOP > retrieved ship > save icon
After retrieving and checking the configured ship, use the ASOP save icon. Inspect its confirmation. A new snapshot replaces the previous one.
Expected result: The intended configuration is the saved snapshot.
If it did not work: A later insured claim excludes ammunition and missiles. Plan a separate rearm; do not treat an insured ship as automatically stocked.
