STEP 1 OF 4

Check the tracking capability

Head pose, gaze and facial capture require different inputs.

  1. 1

    Check the tracking capability

Identify which functions your existing tracker and its current Star Citizen integration actually support.

    What you should see

Your setup plan asks the device to perform supported functions.

    That did not happen

Do not infer gaze or facial tracking from a camera icon. Use the device's own documentation for calibration and display limits.

Check the tracking capability

Head pose, gaze and facial capture require different inputs.

Check the tracking capability

Identify which functions your existing tracker and its current Star Citizen integration actually support.

Expected result: Your setup plan asks the device to perform supported functions.

If it did not work: Do not infer gaze or facial tracking from a camera icon. Use the device's own documentation for calibration and display limits.

Calibrate for this display and posture

A changed seat, screen or obstructed sensor can affect tracking.

Calibrate for this display and posture

Complete the device's supported display setup and calibration while sitting where you will play.

Expected result: The device preview follows the intended head or gaze input.

If it did not work: Clear the sensor's sightline and follow its specific placement instructions. Screen-size limits and mounting locations are device-dependent.

Select the supported tracking source

Game integration needs the correct source and enabled state.

Select the supported tracking source

Options > Comms, FoIP, & Head Tracking

Select the source that corresponds to your configured device and choose the gameplay states where you want tracking enabled.

Expected result: The view responds in the states you selected.

If it did not work: You do not have to enable tracking while walking, reading panels and piloting. Keep a comfortable manual fallback.

Keep a reachable pause or recenter

A quick pause helps when a moving view interferes with reading.

Keep a reachable pause or recenter

Use the available tracking controls to assign a reachable pause or recenter action for your supported setup.

Expected result: You can return to a comfortable forward view without resetting all settings.

If it did not work: Check whether a shortcut is handled by the game or your tracking software. Avoid assigning one key to conflicting actions.
